Yes. Foreign visitors can hire and self-drive a car in Rwanda. You need a valid driving licence (with an International Driving Permit if your licence is not in English) and a passport. Drivers are usually 23 or older, and some vehicle categories are available from 21. We handle everything on WhatsApp and can meet you at Kigali International Airport.

Self-drive car hire starts at about $45/day for a Toyota RAV4, $50/day for a Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sorento, $75/day for a Land Cruiser Prado and $110/day for a Toyota Land Cruiser. All rates include comprehensive insurance and unlimited mileage within Rwanda. Adding a professional driver costs roughly $40-$60 more per day.

You'll need a valid international driving license (held for minimum 1 year), passport, and a credit card for the security deposit. We also accept some national licenses from EAC countries. Age requirement is 18-70 years for all 4WD and 4x4 vehicles.

We provide 24/7 roadside assistance throughout Rwanda for all rental vehicles. In case of mechanical failure, we'll either repair on-site or provide a replacement 4x4 within 2 hours in major towns, 4 hours in remote areas. No additional charges for mechanical breakdowns.

We operate a 'full-to-full' fuel policy for all car rentals - you receive your vehicle with a full tank and return it full. Fuel stations are widely available throughout Rwanda. If you return the vehicle without refueling, we'll charge for refueling plus a service fee.

We offer flexible booking changes up to 24 hours before your rental date at no extra cost. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance receive full refunds. For cancellations within 24 hours, one day's rental fee applies. Emergency situations are handled on a case-by-case basis.
