Six ways to cut the cost of a Rwandan rental
- Take the weekly rate. Seven days at the RAV4 weekly price saves USD 35 against seven single days.
- Do not over specify the vehicle. If the trip is tarmac in the dry season, a RAV4 does the job a Land Cruiser would, at less than half the price and far less fuel.
- Travel in the shoulder months. Vehicles are easier to get and easier to negotiate outside June to September and December.
- Book direct. Overseas booking sites add a margin on top of the local rate for the same car.

- Return with a full tank. A full to full policy only saves money if you actually refuel before you hand back.
