Kigali International Airport sits about 10 to 15 minutes from the city centre at Kanombe, which makes it an easy place to start and end a Rwandan road trip. Here is exactly how collecting and returning a rental car at KGL works.
We meet you, rather than you finding a counter
Rather than queuing at a desk, our representative waits in the arrivals area with your name and the vehicle already parked, serviced, fuelled and checked. That means:

Late and early flights

- Buy a SIM card at the operator desks in arrivals. Bring your passport for registration. Rwandan data is cheap and this makes navigation trivial.
- Change some money for fuel and roadside costs, then change the rest at better rates in town.
- Download offline maps while you have wifi, particularly for the national parks.

Returning the car
Agree the drop off time when you book and leave sensible margin, particularly on a weekday morning when the airport road carries commuter traffic. We meet you at departures, do a quick joint inspection, confirm fuel level, and release any refundable deposit per the terms you agreed. Allow 15 minutes for this on top of your check in time.
